I'm going to the county fair with a few of friends this weekend, and plan on recruiting them for the cause. I've also had "SEE Love" written in huge letters on my arm in hopes someone would ask. This weekend will be no different. Now, what if someone asks what we're all about? Would anyone be opposed to those little strips of paper with the slightly longer version of the mission statement on them? Or flyers I could hand out?
What are some other IRL advertising ideas you guys have come up with? I've been thinking about this for a few days now and was curious what you guys thought.

One IRL idea I have that I will do once I'm back in school is present this idea to our Gay-Straight Alliance. If anyone has a GSA in their school, this would be an awesome opportunity to promote this idea. I'm going to tell so many people, and I believe I can garner a strong amount of support from it, since we have an active gay community on campus.

Elle, this idea sounds wonderful. We still need all the help we can get, and anyone is welcome here, as long as they are nice and open minded. If you guys want to tell your RL friends about this project, go for it! I'm still holding off on the widespread networking campaign until we have a functional website/video. Then we'll be in business. :)

I'm working on getting a GSA at our school, so I'll be bringing this up too. And yes, they're very open-minded. Mildly insane, but open minded. <3

ours is called SQUARE (btw, does anyone know what rainbow might mean for that? its what the r stands for and its been bugging the school all year.) and yeah, I was planning on mentioning it to them. Also I have been think of things like flyers and stickers, but thats as far as I've gotten, should we ask some artsy type people to come up with something official sounding?

Stickers and flyers sound like good ideas.
I could put them in mailboxes and stuff, and we can have a general merchandise thing if we want (*veering slightly off-topic*). We could sell t-shirts, and those bracelet things....
(*is getting ahead of herself*)
Flyers would be easy for a lot of people to do (since they require printers with paper and ink). We could download them and print them out or something. Have black& white ones and colour ones maybe? Or just black&white might work out better.

I think black&white, I have vague memories of being told black ink was cheaper than color, and something semi-official would be nice.
btw Catty, I love your sig.

Danka, Mikki!!!
Yeah, black is cheaper, and if I remember correctly, people are more likely to have black ink anyway. That, and black is sure to show up on nearly eery colour of paper. Colours tend to do this awkward blendy thing, or come out different colours or something.
What would go on this flyer, if we were to have it?
Would it be:
(name)
(logo)
(summary)
(website)
?
Or...something different, like:
(cute character pic)
(name)
(summary)
(website)
?

Or...what? I can keep doing random combinations btw. I'm pretty good at them.

maybe a photmanip? or would that have copyright issues? It'd probably have our name, website, logo, slogan, mission statement, a summary of our goals and what we've been doing so far, and a whole bunch of quotes from official interviews and stuff, plus pics.

I was wondering, should we assemble a list of quotes from famous persons on the subject of social equality? [I've already started on this b/c I was bored and procrastinating on my essay.]

We could put these on flyers or use them as those beginning tag things that go at the start of essays. [I can never remember the name of those things.] It might give them a more authoratative flair.
