Yes, he does read it, and it's AWESOME.
He pretty much just talks about EVERYTHING that's related to himself and Star Trek. Pretty much goes in chronological order up through all the TOS cast movies and such.
There are tons of perfectly wonderful little anecdotes all over the place, and he opens every chapter with a dialogue between himself and Spock. (my favorite parts!)
It's so much fun to listen to--the people in the cars around me must think I'm a crazy person judging by my laughter and tears and reactions when there's no one else in the car with me. XD

I used to love that show... I almost never had any interests in the books he talked about, but I loved watching it cause he was cool and sometimes he went to people's jobs and stuff. My favourite ep was the one where we went behind the scenes fro TNG. AWESOMENESS to a little girl who looooved TNG. (Wesley was my first crush on a fictional character. Ah, youth. I've moved on to greener pastures...like Spock...)

so i was watching the movie, and something caught my eye during the Kobayashi Maru scene. here is a screencap of the bridge's viewscreen:

And its a HEART!!! so you see, its a subtle, yet totally obvious hint at K/S! ^_^ why else would they put a HEART in the scene where KIRK takes the test that SPOCK programs... hehe, ^_^. think this could work as proof that kirk and spock are meant for eachother?

Pretty sure that's just a coincidence to how the explosion happened. Because really, by the same logic, you could say why would there be a heart while both Uhuru and Kirk were in the test?

Hm, it might not be such a coincidence. JJ Abrams is notorious for these kinds of clues. If anyone was around for the Cloverfield viral clue madness, they know what I mean. =P

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any other clue as to what the explosion was intended to hint at, but it could be as simple (and harmless) as 'Kirk had the green chick fix the test for him and she slipped that in there because she loves him.'

I really think it's just a coincidence. Sure, it's obvious it looks like a heart from the screencap, but I've watched that movie a LOT and never once picked up on anything other than an explosion. I don't really get where the K/S connection comes in either, but it's fun to speculate.

This is definitely true. Nonetheless, the heart shape itself is pretty awesome. I wonder if it was intentional at all, or simply done by accident. Either way I heartily approve. I love subliminal messages of any sort.
