Hey, an idea I had a while ago was an eye with our url over the top like eyelashes. I dont know what you'd have for a pupil tho, sorry.

how about we take the star trek logo, turn it upside-down, and colour it pink? a reference to the pink inverted triangle as a symbol of gay pride..

Potential copyright issues with the star trek logo. We ahve to come up with sometihng original, maybe do the pink inverted triangle as a pupil if we're still thinking about the eye idea?

Or maybe three intersecting triangles as the pupil of an eye? If we go with the eye idea. SEE is a three letter word, and I like triangles...(*is ashamed of lame reason and likely spelling fail*).
We could have a letter in each triangle to incorporate our name and stuff.

My only concern with using the triangle, and correct me if I'm just being paranoid, is that it was a symbol of oppression in Nazi Germany. They pinned pink triangles to the shirts of homosexuals in the camps. While it is a big symbol of the homosexual community, I am only afraid of being insensitive. I'm currently working with art.nerd to come up with a good logo, and all your ideas are helping. We're currently playing with the eye, which I very much like. I'll let you know when we have something solid. Keep the ideas rolling!

EDIT: really? I didn't know that, why aren't we being taught this stuff? I just studied Nazi Germany, I didn't even know they were actively against homosexuals.

I've got one! I know the issues with copyrights have already been glossed over, but what about the Federation symbol with two interlinked male symbols, one blue and one gold? Just tossing it out there.

Ooh. I like the use of the male symbols. I'll forward this idea to art.nerd. But we'll probably incorporate multiple LGBT symbols, such as one with two female symbols and so forth... we'll see how I like it.

Yeah, the pink triangle thing is not something people really know. Hitler's Germany imprisoned Jews, Prostitutes, Gypsies, Homosexuals, the Mentally Challenged, and anyone who dissented their cause or they found "undesirable." They pinned pink triangles to homosexuals, and they were often priority shootings. The pink triangle has subsequently become a symbol of gay pride, but the fact is that not many people know that they were used in Nazi Germany. I'm not sure who came up with the idea, but to me that could be slightly offensive to some Jews. If you ever need a good cry, check out the book "A Letter to Harvey Milk," in where a Jewish man who is homosexual recounts terrible things that happened to him and his friends in the camps. This is where I learned of the real meaning of the pink triangle.

It came out looking more like a motivational poster than I'd hoped, but I was thinking that maybe just using the Earth would be good? The image is from NASA and is public domain.

This was the first logo design I came up with a few days ago. This isn't the one Lance has decided to use, but it's along the same lines as what we're planning style-wise. Consider this a sneak-peek of what the rest of the site will look like soon!
