I haven't seen all of the episode yet, so I don't have a set sure of what episode is my favorite yet. Most of the episodes I watched all have some sort of reason to be great, whether its the acting, or the story.

But so far, Troubles with Tribbles, Amok Time, City on the edge of Forever, and The Empath are some of my favorites.

Sorry if this is a little off-topic, but can someone recommend a place to actually d/l or stream the episodes?

I liked Friday's Child because it gets so awkward for poor McCoy, and the Gamesters of Triskelion because I couldn't take it seriously. I was laughing through most of that episode.

This isn't my favorite, but I was just watching "The Enemy Within"
and Evil!Kirk is pretty amusing at times. At least the part when he staggers drunkenly down the hallway and the way he repeatedly screams "I'M CAPTAIN KIRK!"

Even that might not work, depending on which DVD region she's in. DVD regions are a BITCH.

Lawl!! I'm so freakin' sad about the cut out scene in the reboot movie...the thought of Jim doing that.. T_T

And the thought that Spock Still had it with him, the only thing he had from the other world <3 He must have had it made into a necklace on a chain or something so that he would never lose it.

On another note, can't wait till the DVD comes out. I'm not usually one to watch special features, but I might have to make an exception for this:

And lol! pixie dust. We should incorporate that into our agenda. "So for this next film we want an open gay relationship, strong female characters, and some magical pixie dust for Jim so he can live forever."

You should totally move to America. Just to watch Star Trek.

As long as you're not moving there for that 'American Dream' thing Arthur Miller was so kind to shoot down.

I'M CAPTAIN KIRK!!! Also, insert manic laughter and love of mankind.

Dagger of the Mind - because it was very deep.

Devil In The Dark - because it has Spock and Kirk walknig around in dark caverns.

The Changeling - Because I found many of the lines horribly hillarious.

Favorite thus far: Amok Time.

Why? Kirk and Spock rolling around in the dirt. TOGETHER. Then geeky Spock grin at the end =D. Not to mention fun Kirk / McCoy / Spock dynamics.

I like that episode because of where Kirk's Shirt gets ripped, I lol every time. Whenever I watch that episode and the part where Spock's weapon rips across Jim's Chest I yell out 'NIPPLES!' :P

Journey to Babel. Spock has become one of my favorite characters, and I love the complexity of him and his family. I have so much love for this episode. As well as Amok Time, because it's so fitting that the way K/S fight is by rolling around.

Of course Amok Time, and the Enterprise Effect. I can imagine they are bonded during this episode and it WORKS. Perfectly. :D

Edit: Err I mean the Enterprise INCIDENT. I got confused with the Entropy Effect novel... Please don't mind me. *shakes head*

I agree Journey to Babel is a great episode. I really loved seeing Kirks face when he found out who Spock's family was...lol priceless.

The thing I love about this series is that there's so few really horrendous episodes. And even if it is terrible, it's very thought-provoking regardless. But I'm gonna have to admit--I just went FULL ON FANGIRL for "Operation Annihilate" (title notwithstanding). THERE WAS SO MUCH SLASHTASTIC GOODNESS :IS SHOT: I MEAN DYNAMIC CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT between everyone's favorite OT3 :IS SHOT AGAIN: I mean central trio. But aaaargh.

And those eggs over easy I mean enlargened brain cell parasites never failed to keep me in stiches.

/endfangirl.

Ohwaitno. Also add any single one where they dress up for any reason whatsoever. Like, "A Piece of the Action" or "Patterns of Force". BECAUSE ADMIT IT. NAZI!VULCAN IS HOT.

Journey To Babel was Amazing! if only to learn that "the teddy bears on Vulcan are alive and have six inch fangs." ^_^

I also loved Shore Leave, you all know why. Spock's Brain did prove to be rather interesting to me, and Jim was so distraught that i couldn't help having a bit of a fangirl moment. its okay Jim, Spock will be alright in the end...

I like how in Spock's Brain, the very moment Spock is going to be all right Kirk starts to hit on women. :p

K/S aside, I think my favourite episode is Metamorphosis. I really think that they were trying to say something about inclusivity regarding sexual minorities with that episode. I just loved the way that Kirk, Spock & McCoy reacted to the idea of Cochrane and The Companion being in love. And the way that Cochrane was talking about indecency makes me think that they were trying to alude to gay relationships as well. The ending is made of a lot of fail, but I can ignore it and just focus on the rest of the episode, because they probably had to make The Companion a female to get it past the censors.

For K/S though, the obvious one os Amok Time. There isn't a single scene in that episode that isn't slashy. I also like Devil In The Dark, A Piece of the Action, Patterns of Force, The Trouble with Tribbles, and any other episode where K&S are pretty much inseparable. Seriously, in Trouble with Tribbles, Kirk goes off without Spock once and Spock's all "May I ask where you'll be?" It's like, seriously Spock? You are capable of spending, like, 5 minutes away from Kirk, right? And in Devil, they come across those two tunnels and Spock is like "Should we separate?" and then they do and Spock just stands and watches while Kirk goes to the other tunnel, like he just doesn't wanna pry himself away from his boyfriend. They're so cute!

In response to the previous post, I watched Metamorphosis two days ago and caught the same idea about the sexual minorities as you did...I sort of brushed it off though, as I've become more or less hyper-aware of all the slashiness in TOS as I continue to watch (good or bad thing? I'm not sure).

I'm only about halfway through season 2, but I've liked a lot of the episodes so far...

Some of my favorites:

The Naked Time - Spockish character development. Yay.
The Galileo Seven - More character development for Spock.
The Return of the Archons - There's something sexy about William Shatner in a Victorian outfit.
The Devil in the Dark - pure awesomeness. Also, interesting concept.
Amok Time - Just because.
Mirror Mirror - I liked the ending. One or two people really * can * start a revolution.

Tomorrow is Yesterday: This episode is made of so much WIN it's a little disgusting. From Kirk's brilliant interrogation scene, to Spock taking Kirk's wrist and asking if he's alright, to Kirk BLATANTLY hitting on John the Pilot...it's just so much fun. XD

The Corbomite Maneuver: It's tense, it's intelligent, the disembodied voice has some of the most hilarious lines ever, and of course..."Emotional security"...bwehehe

Amok Time: 'Cause DUH.

The Apple: Spock gets hurt like 274834 times and Kirk is there to save him and be all concerned every time.

Bah, so many more...damn this show and its greatness! ::Shakes fist::

Oh man, yesterday I re-watched The City on the Edge of Forever with my mom (she wanted to see a Star Trek episode and so I decided to give her one that had won an award), and I remembered how awesome that episode is too. Just...that one speech that Sister Edith Keeler gives about the future and her hopes for it is filled with so much win. Just makes me optimistic about the future when I listen to it. And the quote where Ms. Keeler points out that Spock belongs at Kirk's side...couldn't have said it better myself! And the part where Kirk brings home groceries, making sure to get vegetarian food for Spock. I don't even mind Kirk falling in love with someone who isn't Spock...that episode is just so good. * sighs *

PS. I'm pretty sure I have a wee crush on Joan Collins (never seen her in anything else) in this episode. 1930s outfits ftw...
PPS. And I'm always a sucker for episodes where Kirk and Spock dress up in sexy old timey outfits too...like in A Piece of the Action...I squee'd out loud in front of my dad when they emerged from the building wearing the suits! Hawt.

Haha, of course. All of as as slash fans HAVE to love that one!

*SQUEE* I love that! I started a video just because I was so inspired by the epic rescuing going on between those two!! I love the way Jim picks up Spock after he is struck by the lightning...and DAYUM, Nimoy's ass is smokin' ! ROFL. (you gotta love Shatner's face too.)

Because of all the touchy-feely-rescuin' goin' on in "The Apple", it is DEFINITELY on my top five, even top three list of favorites. IT WAS <strike>FAN</strike>SLASHTASTIC. If I counted all the *moments* I'd be here for about eight years. I was in hysterics the whole time.

My favorite episodes:

-The Trouble with Tribbles
--Reason: Cute fuzzy things that supposedly only affect the humans. Spock is, of course, immune. XD

-I, Mudd
--Reason: Spock plays along with the plot to act completely illogical to confuse the androids. "Logic," [says Spock], "is a little bird tweeting in a field. Logic is a wreath of pretty flowers that smell bad."

-The Ultimate Computer
--Reason: Lots of K/S fluff in this. Spock respects the computer system designed to run a starship as a captain, but values Kirk much more.

-The episode where the 'happy-spores' make everyone go looney. ...I can't remember the name. This Side of Paradise, maybe?
--Reason: "I am who I am, Layla. My place is on the bridge, with the man who controls this ship." ...Or, something like that. Spock turns down a girl for Kirk!

-The Naked Time
Reason: When McCoy rips Kirk's shirt to give him that hypospray. Absolutely classic :')

-Plato's Stepchildren
Reason: Kirk gets ridden by a dwarf. COME ON!

-That episode (the name of which I can't remember) when we find out Kirk has a brother and those funny flappy things have killed him
Reason: Kirk gets so angry when he thinks Bones has blinded Spock, it's cute.

Favs (no order):

The Apple--Has some awesome moments. The writing is hilarious, and Spock has the greatest facial expressions in the entire episode. It also features Red Shirt massacre, Spock throwing himself into danger to save Jim, Jim yelling at Spock, a Yeoman making an arse out of herself AND kicking arse, and heavily spray tanned aliens.

Amok Time--for all the reasons already stated.

Devil in the Dark--One of the first episodes I ever watched. Full of Vulcan uber protection of Kirk.

Trouble with Tribbles--Cos its just awesome.

Mirror Mirror--I'm a fan of the Mirrorverse, and there's some dang good and suspense in it.

Errand of Mercy--The Klinigon Commander has some awesome lines, and the interaction between him and Kirk is great. Also features: Spock in a cape. Lookin like an elf? Doin it right.

Bread and Circuses: Awesome interaction between McCoy and Spock in that prison cell.
