Anyone ever been to the Detroit Science Center's Star Trek Exhibit (features sets, costumes, props, and other junk from TOS, the movies, and other seasons)? I'm going tomorrow with friends, I'm so excited. I might write something up for the blog about it if it's interesting. Just curious to see if anyone else had seen or heard of it. :eek:

Sorry it took me so long to get to this, I've been busy getting the house cleaned and having medical testing done and all sorts of shit. @_@;
But the exhibit was really neat! They had original uniforms for the TOS crew and some other costume pieces from throughout the trekverse. There was a replica of the bridge where you could sit at the stations and take pictures (I took Chekov's seat because...why not? I can fake a Russian accent). It was pretty cool, but nothing was interactive...but you can imagine the real bridge was probably about the same. XDD They also had a massive timeline with events all over the trekverse in order. It was confusing, because everything happened in different series' timelines, and the movies were all over the place...and Scotty randomly disappeared for 70 years? Really? And no one noticed? :confused: Anyways, it had a typo on it, and we laughed.
The best part of it was the diagrams from the actual show and the details on the costumes. There were little things in the diagrams, such as schematics of the ship, like a car in the cargo hold, or a plane, or rats. XDD Apparently the artists got bored. And the costumes were pretty low-end, like one of the klingon outfits had a belt buckle that was literally made of bubble wrap and cardboard. XDD I shit you not.
I think the most fun we had that day was playing Jenga with building blocks in the other part of the Science Center though, I played against my friend, who was Spock. People must have been confused, because we kept referring to each other as "Mister Spock" and "Mister Chekov". Although we had some pretty OOC moments. I'm fairly certain Spock would have to be pretty compromised to say something like "Fuck you Chekov, fuck you." Or lose at Jenga, repeatedly, for that matter. Or even play it.
I also have to mention that Captain Kirk enjoys tickling and molesting Chekov. End story. No explanation necessary.

That sounds like it was alot of fun!

Scotty randomly disappeared for 70 years? Really?
Perhaps that was the time he spent stuck in the transporter buffer...STNG episode Relics, Memory Alpha quotes the time as 75 years:
Furthermore, a pattern is still in the buffer and, amazingly, it has suffered almost no degradation. Riker wonders if someone could survive in the transporter buffer for 75 years and La Forge finds out by rematerializing the stored pattern. Captain Montgomery "Scotty" Scott materializes on the transporter pad

I'm fairly certain Spock would have to be pretty compromised to say something like "Fuck you Chekov, fuck you." Or lose at Jenga, repeatedly, for that matter. Or even play it.
