Preview SEE... and *slight* delay... >_<

Hey guys! Just letting you know that the basic gist of the site is up by now...

There's a fun youtube video (not perminent -- this will be replaced by a welcome message via yours truly) on the main page and the only page that isn't there is the the projects page. The artwork is all there - and it should all look fine... I'm having some difficulties though getting everything to line up properly... so be patient.

But here's the deal. I've been up working for a straight 24 hours (I kid you not). My faculties are failing. I will screw something up if I finish now. I'm making an executive decision and delaying the official launch until tomorrow at 10 AM CST.

I am so SO sorry guys... I know you guys were pumped. I was too. But now you can be pumped for tomorrow!

The logo on the left you see was done by Mr Eccentric.. this will become the official SEE logo. The enterpage and the individual page images (blog, petition, ect) and the social networking link images are all done by art.nerd. The rest was all done last minute by aolian... this was because I was having some MAJOR issues with what I had last night and I needed help, and the rest is history.

Tell me what you think. Tell me what problems are there (esp with the different browsers).

It was not my intent to have to put this site together... and while I knew and still know I can do it, there's only so much I could do in a twenty-four hour timespan. I hope I haven't let any one you down.

This being said, I am going to rest up, and then have the complete site up by tomorrow morning, PROMISE!

I love you all like brothers and sisters at this point... you guys have been so encouraging a supportive and I could not have asked for a better group of people. Thank you.

I will set all the social networking sites up as soon as I wake. Then we'll star t campaining and fighting like hell. Remember that the blog is up at seetreklove.com/blog. Or you can access it from the browser. Do you guys like the in frame, or do you think I should just have separate pages for each image? I'm not sure how I'm feeling about it and it's giving me trouble.

Also, I hope you like my little flashy effect. I thought it needed at least a little flashy stuff, considering for the most part it's kind of plain.

The goal was simple, like that of our message. I hope it comes across.

Again, I'm going to fix any problems reported and fix what I think needs to be fixed.

I hope you guys aren't terribly upset with me... guh. Anyway, if you guys don't mind going and taking a look at the SEE summary... I could also still use a FAQ on SEE and someone get the rules too for these forums... I promise everything will be super awesome.

There's only so much I can do in 24 hours. Now I'm sounding like a broken record... this means sleep is calling. Love you all! Please don't hate me!

I just took a look around and what we have so far....it's beautiful. I feel so tingly and happy. I really think we're getting somewhere fast, which is exactly what we want. Any delay in launch is fine with me, because you've worked your ass off in that computer chair of yours, and you NEED to sleep. Best to be in the right frame of mind for any other work we want to accomplish. And once again, I'm willing to do whatever is needed next in order to see our goal through. Right now I'm sacrificing journalistic time in order to tell you that I think this is the coolest thing since Life. I love you all so much (really!) and if we are successful, we have to celebrate somehow, anyhow. It's only fair.

So good luck with whatever else is needed (I'm not quite sure what that is), and you can text me, Lance, if you need me to do something asap.

Sleep well! Have awesome K/S dreams that make you feel all gooey inside! I actually had some of those last night. Good times abound.

The only thing is, when I click on the link for the blog, it's hard to get a nice window to see the entire blog entry at one time...so I'd just link the blog to a different page instead of in page. Other than that, it's lovely. I can't wait to start fighting like hell!

I caught a few typos--in the petition, it's "receive", not "receive", and I think you meant "confirmation", not "conformation".

Also, er, sorry this is so late--but with the petition, I think we should include that quote from Roddenberry about Kirk and Spock's relationship, or some other relevant quote that eases us from the gay-characters to the Kirk/Spock. My friend was very confused as to why it went from TNG to Kirk/Spock so suddenly when she read the petition.

Amazing!!! Stylistically, I think it looks great. The simplicity of the designs and colors are both easy on the eye and very memorable.

And I laughed way more than I probably should have at the "On a Boat" Star Trek video. It sort of reminded me of how in the show Firefly, they colloquially refer to the spaceships as boats.

Just wondering about the logo on the front page, though... shouldn't there also be a male/female set of symbols as well? I mean, the SEE effort is about social equality, not just 'gays gays everywhere', y'know? It's about inclusivity of ALL couples. Idk, to me it just looks like we're pushing the gay angle. I mean, that is what we're doing, to increase gay representation in media, but the ultimate goal of course is for equal representation of ALL couples, gay, straight, or whatever. Although I dunno how that could be done with only two eyes... Maybe have an alien with three eyes? Idk, I like the idea of the icon, and I think it's very clever, but yeah...
Regarding essays, I'd like to contribute one on why I think that Roddenberry definitely meant for Kirk & Spock to hook up in TMP. I've done it here http://community.livejournal.com/spookysfics/13030.html but i dunno, I kinda want to rewrite it and break it down even further so that it becomes understandable and blindingly obvious to even someone unfamiliar with Star Trek. But anyway, if you want to put it on the site, you're welcome to it :)

Hey guys! Thanks for understanding. I'm now rested and fed, so I will go back to work! I really am liking the site as well... it looks good, I'm not going to lie.

I've still got a few adjustments to make, but for the most part what you see is what you get.

I'm a little behind on PHP boards (really I haven't dabbled in website things since HTML was new), but have you simply tried renaming them the same as the icons that do work? It'd be a bit of an override, but since the URL would be the same...

Or is it just not recognizing that you have the images on the server?
