I was making avatars and then I had this brilliant idea. :)

After launch, you can use it as your Livejournal avatar, etc. You can let people know about our campaign without hardly any effort at all!

Should I make more? Never mind, I'm going to make more, I love playing in Photoshop. lol.

What should they say? How can I fit the phrase "to boldly go?"

(Sorry they're so grainy, but Photoshop and every other gif making program I've tried puts out the same result.) =(

Wow, I love that! It's fantastic!

I'm, like, almost certain it's possible to export animations (and hi-quality ones) from Photoshop. If you don't mind, which version of PS do you have?

I have Photoshop Elements 7. That's what I've been using to make the animations, but they still turn out grainy. :(

Meh...I've never made an icon before.
I'm sorry they're not terribly exciting...I don't know how to do animation yet! XD
If you did use them, say on LJ, then you would have to rig it to link to the site when someone clicked on it...because there wasn't room to put the URL on each of them. Maybe (when I figure out animation) I can make them all into one icon and add the URL on the last frame...hmm. Maybe.

MWAHAHAHA...I figured out how to do animation! So here is a new-and-improved version that combines my last three still icons...and I was able to get the URL in there too!

ETA: ACK! I need to get rid of that black border on the first couple of frames...

I'm glad you like them...I'm actually kinda proud of the animated one...I had never used photoshop before today, and, well, I had to do a lot of learning in a short period of time. :P

Aolian-- can you PM me your e-mail? Then I can send you a zip file. Apparently you can only post 4 images in each post, and there are a lot of images. :)

art.nerd, I don't think you can rig the icon to be an actual link in LJ.

And yes, I have an LJ that I will be posting these in after launch. My thought is that I'll plug SEE, provide a link, and post these icons for anyone who wants to get involved. I have a few Trek communities that I post to, so I'll try to get the word out. :D

Okay, I love messing around in photoshop, so if I have any spare time, I'll try to make some. @tenuelena "To boldly go where no Star Trek has gone before"? Could that work? I would so movie instead of star trek, but there WAS Brokeback Mountain.

I think these are all so nifty! =D I think it really brings out and attracts audiences of those who like Star Trek, but being a person who barely knows much of it,
And I KNOW I shouldn't speak, but I really want to help out, and I'm just a newbie, and I hope I don't offend anybody, but
I think we should have avatars more that would be flashier (I guess?) and would attract not only Star Trek fans, BUT those people like me, who don't know much of it.

DAZebra, I don't mind at all. You can credit to tinuelena, it's my livejournal.

I'm not so worried about credit on these... they're for the promotion of the community and our cause, and that's the important thing. Credit's nice but not crucial.

THANK YOU for the list, I will post to those tonight, after making a few more icons that may fit MrLullabye's suggestion.

Those are all so awesome. I was inspired and made a banner, an icon, and a larger version of the icon. Although I think they suck, whatever. I tried. I made them with Sony Vegas...which is a video editing software. XD

I'm making a couple of things, and I just love the font on the SEE banner for the forums. Anyone know what font it is?
